Dubai visa options for Indian professionals
Employment, freelance, investor, and family visas, which one fits your move, and what each costs.
Moving to Dubai starts with the right visa. Here are the main routes for Indian professionals.
Employment visa
The most common route. Your employer sponsors the visa and it covers your Emirates ID, health insurance, and residency. You typically arrive on a visit visa, interview, and convert once you have an offer.
Freelance permit
Dubai offers a dedicated freelance permit and a digital-nomad visa for remote workers. You can be self-sponsored, useful if you work with clients across borders.
Investor / business visa
If you're starting a business, free zones like DMCC, IFZA, and Dubai South issue investor visas. Setup costs typically start around AED 10,000.
Family / dependent visa
If a family member is already a UAE resident, they can sponsor your dependent visa. The process is straightforward once their salary meets the threshold.
